I was in an auto accident that broke my back (acute burst fracture of 12th thoracic vertebra), my sternum (breastbone) and a rib. After 10 days in the hospital and 4 months in a clam-shell brace, muscle tone in my upper torso, and especially in my back had vanished. I could not sit or stand for more than 10 minutes without great pain which required me to lay down as my muscles did not support me.
Blue Wave Physical Therapy has me almost back to pre-accident normal. Water therapy is easier because it does not strain your muscles with the weight of your body. Blue Wave’s magic water box is fabulous; exercising in it is actually fun. I can now sit, stand, rake, cook, go to church and go out with friends. I am beginning to run again. I forgot to mention that I am 74 years old and have rheumatoid arthritis. I definitely recommend Blue Wave.

Due to multiple injuries, degenerative disc due to scoliosis, the nerve pain had become debilitating. I was missing out on sleep, social gatherings, driving, travel, shopping, and normal daily work and home responsibilities.
Before I tried aquatic therapy I tried so many things that didn't work... Stretching, walking, treadmill, acupuncture, chiropractor, reflexology, over the counter cremes for pain, steroids, ice, heat. Due to sensitivities and severe reactions, I can not take any anti-inflammation over the counter medications or prescribed oral medications; therefore, for decades, alternative solutions have been chosen.
Once starting aquatic therapy, the freedom to move and feel normal without pain was amazing. I had the same feeling using the anti-gravity treadmill, but without the nerve pain when I was done.
Once again, I can make commitments with friends to enjoy music and art venues, lasting longer than a hour. I was able to assist with harvesting honey on Lake Katherine. I was able to drive to the Northshore again and enjoy a 95th birthday party.
For anyone skeptical about physical therapy I say to love yourself, live and stay vertical. Listen to your body and if your energy and strength continue to be depleted, seek a physical therapist that you trust. Request pool therapy to get your Mojo back.
